RampStack Claude Skills Claude skills

107 stack-agnostic skills covering the website lifecycle: brand, design, content, SEO, product, ops and growth, with 516 reference files.

Our verdict Recommended with caveats

Consistent, well-documented frameworks, but they are prose-only, the audit suite needs a paid Ahrefs MCP, and the project's own test results show little measured effect so far.

What RampStack Claude Skills does

RampStack's catalog is an opinionated library where every skill follows the same structure, so they can be chained. The README groups 107 skills into 16 categories: strategy and discovery, brand, design, content, SEO foundation, an SEO audit suite, product management, development, operations, growth, growth tooling, marketing, research and process. It claims every skill has a full SKILL.md and at least one reference file, 516 in total, covering templates, checklists, decision matrices and worked examples. Skills point to each other, for example creative-brief to brand-voice, and each lists when not to use it.

The seven-skill SEO audit suite (orchestration, backlink, keyword gap, content gap, traffic diagnosis and others) assumes the Ahrefs MCP; everything else is tool-agnostic. There are no scripts or evals. Install options are the Claude Code marketplace (rampstack-skills, or smaller starter, seo and pm subsets), a manual copy into ~/.claude/skills, an Anthropic API path, and a generated Codex copy under dist/. The README publishes OpenAddict test results for some skills; the two we saw (brand-voice, seo-onpage) mostly report 'No measured effect' for the models tested, and most others are marked set up for testing but not yet run.

Good for

  • Agencies and in-house teams who want a consistent playbook set across brand, content and SEO
  • Using the Ahrefs-powered audit suite if you already pay for Ahrefs MCP

Not for

  • Anyone expecting executable tools; these are written frameworks only
  • Users who want proof of lift per skill

Dependencies and costs

  • Ahrefs MCP (paid Ahrefs account) for the seven SEO audit suite skills

Security review

Review before installing

A large library of markdown skills (about 107) for brand, SEO, content, dev and ops work; the files we hold contain no scripts, no allowed-tools pre-approvals and no hooks. Install is a manual copy into ~/.claude/skills. The SEO audit suite expects a separately installed Ahrefs MCP, and most of the repo (the skills/ source tree and CI files) was not available to us, so only the Codex-format mirror was reviewed.

Worth knowing

  • Relies on a CLI or package we could not reviewThe 7-skill SEO audit suite assumes the Ahrefs MCP server (paid, credits per call) is connected; that server's code is not in the repo.README.md:622

What we checked

The repository (2171 files) on Oct 29, 2026. Not a full review: 1856 of 2171 files were not downloaded (large repository; we reviewed the skill folders); it relies on code outside the repository: Ahrefs MCP server (external, required by the SEO audit suite skills); About 1,850 repo files (the skills/ source tree, .claude-plugin manifests, .github workflows and lint script) are not in our copy; only the dist/codex mirror (SKILL.md, references, frontmatter-extras YAML) was available.

NVIDIA SkillSpector static scan: 141 pattern hits (Agent Snooping 116, Excessive Agency 15, Anti-Refusal 4, Memory Poisoning 2, Data Exfiltration 1, Rogue Agent 1). SkillSpector hits are documentation phrases ('without warning', 'clear conversation', 'capture context'), skill-path links in the README, and the README's manual 'cp -r skills/* ~/.claude/skills/' install step. No scripts are present in the files we have.

A review, not a certification. Skills change after we check them — read the files before installing.

Can it run unattended?

Not really. Skills are advisory frameworks with no loops, scripts or verification; the README's reference build is a human-guided walkthrough.

FAQ

What is rampstackco/claude-skills?

It is a library of 107 Claude Skills from RampStack covering the lifecycle of a brand and website: strategy, brand identity, design systems, content, SEO, product management, development, operations, growth and research. Each has reference files such as templates and checklists.

How do I install RampStack skills?

In Claude Code run /plugin marketplace add rampstackco/claude-skills, then /plugin install rampstack-skills@rampstack for the full catalog, or rampstack-starter, rampstack-seo or rampstack-pm for subsets. You can also copy the skills folder into ~/.claude/skills.

Do RampStack skills need paid tools?

Only the seven-skill SEO audit suite, which is built around the Ahrefs MCP and therefore an Ahrefs plan. The rest are described as stack-agnostic and tool-neutral.

RampStack skills vs Corey Haines' marketing skills?

RampStack covers the whole site lifecycle including brand, design and product with prose frameworks. Corey Haines' set is narrower, focused on marketing and growth, and ships eval files and some conversion-tracking snippets.
