onetake Claude skill

A skill for making short product launch and feature-demo films as one continuous camera move, rendered from HTML and checked by a continuity script.

Our verdict Recommended with caveats

Technically deep and carefully measured, but the PolyForm Noncommercial license blocks commercial use without a paid Pro version.

What onetake does

onetake builds 10 to 60 second motion films about a product without cutting between slides. The film is one HTML composition where every value is a function of time, built from a library of measured moves such as springs, entrances, carries and camera motion. At each boundary between beats, something on screen has to survive and become the next beat. A script called probe.py records what is on screen in every frame, finds each boundary and computes a carry score; a film that merely swaps scenes fails. The same checks reject uniform shot lengths, no still moments, clipped audio and fast moves without motion blur.

Product interfaces are rebuilt in HTML from screenshots rather than screen-recorded. Frames are rendered one by one with real shutter motion blur, 1080p30 for drafts and 4K60 for the final, with synthesized sound effects. Narrated cuts with subtitles and translated versions are supported. The pack has a 24 KB skill, 8 references, 15 scripts, templates, case studies and a looks library. It needs Python with Playwright and Chromium, NumPy, SciPy, Pillow and Matplotlib, plus ffmpeg and Node. The license limits use to noncommercial work.

Good for

  • Launch teasers and feature demos for personal or open projects
  • Makers who care about smooth, connected motion
  • Auditing why a motion video feels like a slideshow

Not for

  • Commercial client work without buying the Pro license
  • Quick template-based videos
  • Machines without ffmpeg, Playwright and Python

Security review

Review before installing

A skill for producing short product motion videos with local Python and Node scripts that render HTML with headless Chromium and ffmpeg. It makes no network calls of its own apart from loading pages you point the recorder at, and needs several tools you install yourself. License is PolyForm Noncommercial.

Worth knowing

  • Relies on a CLI or package we could not reviewNeeds ffmpeg and ffprobe, Playwright with Chromium, numpy/scipy/Pillow, fonttools/brotli (look.py tells you to pip install them), Kokoro ONNX model files and faster-whisper, none of which are in the repo.scripts/analyze_ref.py:37

What we checked

The repository (114 files) on Oct 29, 2026. Not a full review: we read 2 of 15 code files; it relies on code outside the repository: Python packages and tools the scripts import (playwright, kokoro_onnx, misaki, faster-whisper, fonttools, brotli, opencv) and the ffmpeg binary; Kokoro model files expected at ~/.cache/kokoro, which the user downloads separately; Not read in full: lib/motion.js, lib/ui_kit.js, and the other scripts (analyze_ref, frame_diff, gallery, look, probe, render, sfx_palette, stills, verify_promo, test_motion.js); inspected by grep for network, process and file operations, which showed only ffmpeg subprocess calls, Playwright page loads and temp-folder cleanup.

NVIDIA SkillSpector static scan: 18 pattern hits (Dangerous Code Execution 12, analysis-evasion 4, Prompt Injection 1, MCP Least Privilege 1). Scanner hits are subprocess calls to ffmpeg/ffprobe, 'partial analysis' notes about files that exist (references/motion-library.md, scripts/test_motion.js) and an HTML comment about fonts in a template. No network client, credential access or telemetry code was found.

A review, not a certification. Skills change after we check them — read the files before installing.

License

PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 — free for personal, educational and research use; commercial use needs the paid onetake Pro license.

Can it run unattended?

Yes. Frame rendering and the continuity oracle are scripted and give pass or fail results, so long renders can run while you wait, though design choices still need review.

FAQ

What is onetake?

It is an agent skill for making product launch films and demos as one continuous take, where each beat grows out of the previous one. A bundled script scores continuity and rejects slideshow-style output.

How do I install onetake?

Place the repository in your agent's skills folder and install the Python dependencies, including Playwright with Chromium, plus ffmpeg and Node.

Can I use onetake commercially?

Not under the free license. It is PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0, and the README points to onetake Pro for commercial licensing.
